Who do you think the songs are about?

Who do you guys think the songs are about? We know OOTW is about Harry Styles, and I've heard Style is too. We're pretty sure Bad Blood is about Katy Perry. Also, I think I know places and wildest dreams are about the same person because they both mention getting out of the public eye and keeping their relationship private.

I had this theory that Clean is actually about Jake.
If you remember, WANEGBT is about him too, and the lyrics were
"we called it off again last night", "he called me up again tonight", "He calls me and he's like i still loe you..."
and in Clean, there are lyrics that pay homage to this such as
"It was months and months of back and forth", "10 months sober, I must admit, just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it" (This part could also be tied to "I hate you, we break up, You call me, I love you")

But it's just a thought

That's a good guess! I wonder if You Are In Love is about him, too. Or maybe it's just a song that she just wrote about love. I read somewhere that she was convinced she was going to marry him. In all too well (which is about him), she talked about "dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light" and in YAIN she says "dancing in a snowglobe round and round." they could both be the same situation in different wording.

Supposidely, YAIL is actually about Lena Dunham and how Taylor watched her relationship with Jack Antonoff blossom and how it became what it is today. Lena dunham said that YAIL is her future wedding song

I'm pretty sure they're all either about Harry or something she made up (well the ones about love, Bad blood is obviously about Katy Perry and others aren't really about a person but mostly Harry). I had the same thought about Clean to be honest and other songs but then I thought she should be so over that by then, that was 2010! And then I remembered that she wrote Clean this February so I guess that's about Harry too. It seems like she had a similar relationship with him according to the other songs too. They broke up more than 10 months before that but the songs make it seem like they got back together anyway (although I don't know why she's do that again) so that probably explains it. And also, she mentions green eyes a few times (and hiding their relationship in those same songs). Does Harry have green eyes? I don't even know but I thought he might. If not, Connor Kennedy does I'm pretty sure so he's a possibility too although I don't know how serious they were. And yeah, You are in love is about Jack and Lena, it's my favorite!

Yeah, that's what I mean and they both mention hiding the relationship too. She mentions Conmor having green eyes in Everything has changed but I would lean towards Harry if he has green eyes too. (She did wear that fox sweater while out with him once although that probably doesn't mean anything. haha) I think they're mostly about him or are just made up because she didn't date anyone else while writing it except maybe Connor but I hate that the secret messages don't give anything away! And did anyone else notice she's mentioned green eyes in 4 songs now? And someone pointed out to me there's quite a few mentions of ghosts as well on the album (Bad blood, How to get the girl and Clean off the top of my head but I think there's more) which is something she never really said in a song before that I can remember other than in Sweet tea and God's graces. An interesting theme for such a happy album.

I think it was the one that came out about the same time as Red and when they started dating, so it makes sense that Style is about Harry Styles).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're they're all about him too but I don't get why people say that about their album title, the line is take me out. lol

It does. It's "Take me home," not "Take me out," but it's difficult to tell the difference when she's singing it.

Yeah, it does. I realized that later so I feel stupid now. lol But honestly, I only hear out when she sings it and that makes more sense to me with the references to him taking her out earlier in the song. It almost makes me wonder if they got it wrong because they have before but they probably didn't. I'm probably just hearing it wrong. I also thought she was saying "stand back wasted" in I wish you would even though I knew that wasn't it. haha

I like Style a lot, but I find the 'Take Me Home' a bit unnecessary, lol. Not to mention, it's the name of a One Direction album...

I think I read somewhere that Taylor said I Wish You Would isn't about anyone in particular. How you get the girl is some advice she gave to a guy friend (though I don't know who). I think clean might also be about Jake

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if there were songs about Joe or Jake on here because they've made it onto many albums. I feel like those two relationships affected her the most. So I agree that Clean could be about Jake. I wouldn't be surprised if I Wish You Would was inspired by them both. I don't feel like it's completely about one person, I feel like it was inspired by a couple of her past boyfriends. I don't know, just a theory.

I think she was inspired the most by her past boyfriends, if it wasn't about anyone particular. I think it is easier to write from your experiences, so I think she did that too. And you're right when you say that those two affected her a lot, so it would be logical if they were a great inspiration. The other boyfriends probably had a part in it, but not as big as those.

I read somewhere online that How you get the girl was based off Justin and Selena's relationship =)

Agreed. She hasn't really dated anyone lately, so I think it's safe to assume she pulled some inspiration from past relationships
