Blank Space is the next single!

I don't know how reliable her wiki page is, but Blank Space is going to be released as a single November 10th.

I heard this somewhere else, too. I really like the song. I just hope the media mentions that the song is a joke, and not who she actually is.

I know, I heard that too and I think people are going to think she's serious and she'll get more hate but honestly, the girl she's singing about in the song is so rediculous that if people think she's serious she'll just laugh it off. lol I'm excited because it's my favorite song on the album and I think the music video will be hilarious and I bet she already filmed it.

honestly i wouldn't just call it ridiculous, bc let's face it the basic point of the song fits her. so the "girl she's singing about in the song" is her. she had a lot of time to think about herself and her past relationships and how she acted and reacted through everything. taylor said (so often) that she isn't looking permanently for a boyfriend anymore. the way she talks about it now makes it seem like the was way to dependent or addicted to having a relationship, so that she wasn't really looking on who she chose. she just exaggerated it in the song like the media usually do to make it fun and upbeat.

It is ridiculous though, who is that shallow in real life? She's said a few times now that she wrote it about a fictional character that the media paints her to be. She didn't have a dating problem or addiction because she wasn't the serial dater they made her out to be so she didn't take a break from dating for her own sake she did it because everyone thought she was dating too much and that was the only way they'd stop talking about it. Just like with I know places and Shake it off she's fighting back at the media in Blank Space. That's one of the reasons I like it so much and I'm glad it's a single. It's sad but funny at the same time and the music video is going to be hilarious!

yeah i'm just hoping people will get that the song is a joke because i think it's satirical genius. It's probably my favorite on the album though so i'm really excited!!!

Yes! It's amazing and I'm listening to the song again right now because it's my favorite!  And I agree about Style but I don't know about the others. I think Out of the woods will be and maybe Welcome to New York. Usually her promo singles are singles but there's always one that's not. I think maybe I know places could be too. I mean they're all really poppy where they could be singles but I just feel like content wise that Wildest dreams and Bad blood wouldn't make the best singles although they could be and I don't know I just think How you get the girl is a but forgettable like it's just not a fan favorite. It'll probably depend on that. And I think both Wonderland and New Romantics would make great singles even though they're bonus songs. Sadly they probably won't be though just because they're so many other poppy songs on the album that would make for great hits. And I wonder how many singles they'll be? I could see All you had to do was stay and I wish you would having single potential but I feel like not enough people like them. It's too bad she doesn't usually make slow songs like This love, Clean and You are in love singles because those are my favorites and I think it'd be amazing if they were on the radio and had music videos because they're such beautiful songs that I could never get tired of but right now I'm just excited about Blank space because that's another favorite of mine.

I was laughing so hard it's fantastic! It's definitely up there with You Belong With Me and Mean for being my favorite Taylor Swift music video. Her outfits were all so beautiful and she was so over the top and awesome.

Did anyone else try to count the outfits she wore? Someone said in the comments that they counted 21 but I only counted 20 because she wears some more than once but yeah, probably the most costume changes ever because it goes through her whole relationship and then onto another one.

I counted 21.. for a few she only wore them for a few seconds or they looked really similar, like the black dress when she's chopping down the tree in the woods, the light blue/green dress when she's throwing the clothes on fire off the balcony, and the outfit she's wearing when she's painting the picture. Those three were only shown once and looked similar to outfits she wore for longer durations.

I just watched the video again and now I am beginning to realize how meaningful the story actually is... the message I interpret from the video and song itself is how the feelings and perceptions you have in a relationship can all be an illusion. Throughout the video, you see Taylor's intense emotions changing throughout... yet nothing significant is really happening. It's very clever.

I think she just meant to show how everyone thinks she's crazy and dates all the time when really she doesn't and it's rediculous to think that just because she's seen out with a guy every once and a while and then breaks up with them. Like most people aren't that crazy and can still seem normal you know? So it just shows how diluted their view of her is and reassures everyone that the song is a joke. I mean, if someone doesn't get it after seeing the video and actually thinks she's that crazy and would openly admit to it then there's just no help for them. lol

I honestly think this may be one of my favorite music videos! It's so sassy and funny, I love it

woah. that girl she's playing is definitly the most emotional girlfriend i've ever seen but i still think the song isn't just a joke. i think the way the director of the music video put it, hit the spot quite good.

Of course it's a joke. Why would she say it was a joke if it wasn't? She's obviously not really crazy, that's why the music video being even more rediculous than the song fits it so well. Of course she'll get upset and write a song about it if a guy breaks up with her, what songwriter wouldn't but the media twists it so much. She's dated 8 people in her whole life (and she has been dating for 9 or 10 years), that's not that many and as far as I know, she's never almost killed any of them. lol

the thing is her fans go out and tell everyone it's just a joke. she's just calling the media out... and so on. i think that the song is of course an exaggeration and you shouldn't take every word of the lyrics serious, i mean from what we know she's not crazy and hasn't ruined such a beatiful car (though she admitted a propensity for violence when we believe staystaystay ).

she has a reputation build up by writing obvious songs about her exes. the media always looks for someones 'weak spot' which they can write stories about and found hers in the relationship-category so they go on and on. but i think the song isn't just about the whole idiotic-media-reporting. the basic theme under the exaggeration and poking fun at her reputation, is that she finally looking at herself. you can't honestly think that the 8 men were the bad bad boys that just decided to rip her poor heart out and leave her lying on the floor the song basically tells me that it's a two-way-thing and the girl has does her part in ruining a releationship (but not in the desperate, screaming, hitting way in the video of course).

that's why i said her director put it quite well: "She’s highly aware of one particular thing that’s happening right now, the idea that if you date her and you break up with her, she’s going to write a song about you.

She’s aware of this. She’s not an idiot. Taylor wanted to make a video addressing this concept of, if she has so many boys breaking up with her maybe the problem isn’t the boy, maybe the problem is her."

she wouldn't have this concept in her head if she still thinks every breakup with one of her exes is a dear john-situation!

We're not the only ones who tell people it's a joke. She said that herself. Like of course it's rooted in real things but more real things that were exaggerated or real things that were said about her that were not true. No one's saying she's perfect and every breakup was the guy's fault and yeah, she's known for writing songs about them but that's not all she ever writes about and I highly doubt she thinks she's the problem every time either. I think that only applies to Taylor Lautner and she admitted that. I think she tries to be fair and not give guys a reason to think she's crazy and although she may get emotional at times she tries not to over do it for that reason and would just rather walk away from a relationship if it's not working out. I think the main problem on her end is more picking the wrong guys, getting back together with them when she shouldn't, scheduling problems etc. than actually ruining the relationships herself because I think she tries to hold onto them as long as she can and unfortunately you just can't or shouldn't sometimes. So basically she just hasn't found a guy that's right for her yet which is a pretty common thing but they make it out like there's something wrong with her because she has been seen out with however many guys (only having actually dated probably less than half of them) and hasn't had a relationship last long-term or settled down yet and she's just trying to show them how ridiculous their view of her is with this song and video because there's nothing wrong with her so I wouldn't say it's meant to be taken seriously at all. Just kind of to be funny so that people get the joke and understand that she knows what they say about her and she wants to set the record straight that it's not true.

I love this video immensely. The concept is so witty and the director did a perfect job (and the costumes are perfect). And it fits so well with the song.
